1. e4 d5
The Scandinavian Defense forces an immediate pawn trade and gives us a solid structure that resembles what we get in the Caro-Kann Defense.
2. Nf3?
The Tennison Gambit looks tricky online but White just wastes time chasing our pawn while we dominate the center.
2... dxe4 3. Ng5 e5
We return the pawn sacrifice to gain central dominance with a significant advantage.
4. Nxe4
This is White's strongest option, since the other attempts simply give us a clearly superior position once we consolidate the center.
4... f5
We attack the knight a third time and simultaneously grab central space.
5. Ng3 Be6
Black can capitalize nicely on the space advantage here.
6. Nc3 Nc6 7. Bb5 Ne7 8. O-O a6
