Última atualização: October 29, 2026
Welcome to ChessAtlas. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and ANKT SERVICES ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the ChessAtlas platform, including our website, applications, APIs, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
IMPORTANT: By creating an account, subscribing to any plan, or using any part of the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Agreement to Terms

You represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity and authority to enter into these Terms. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
1.3 Modifications to Terms
We may modify these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service or to the law. We will post the updated Terms on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not accept the changes, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before they take effect. Changes never alter the price or the features of a period you have already paid for; price changes follow Section 7.3 of our Terms of Sale.

4.3 One Account Per Person
Each user may only maintain one account. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limitations, avoid suspension, or for any other purpose.
5. Subscription and Billing
5.1 Payment Processing
Web purchases are sold by ANKT SERVICES and paid through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or banking details on our servers. Purchases made in the iOS or Android app are sold and billed by Apple or Google under their own terms. Premium bought on the web unlocks the mobile app with the same account, and vice versa.
5.2 Automatic Renewal
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION CONTINUES AUTOMATICALLY: the monthly subscription is billed each month until you cancel it, and the annual subscription renews for one more year unless you cancel before the renewal date. There is no free trial. Renewal notices and price changes are described in Section 7 of our Terms of Sale.
5.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time, online and without contacting us: on the web from Settings, then Billing, then "Cancel subscription" (Article L215-1-1 of the French Consumer Code); for a subscription bought in the iOS or Android app, from the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
5.4 Refunds
If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on web purchases, with a full refund, as described in Section 9 of our Terms of Sale. Beyond that, refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis: contact support@chessatlas.net. Refunds of in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google.
6. Lifetime Plan
The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment, sold on the web only, that gives access to Premium for as long as we operate the Service, with no renewal. Its conditions are set out in Section 6 of our Terms of Sale.
7. Intellectual Property & Library Content
7.1 Company Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, and underlying technology, is owned by ANKT SERVICES and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
7.2 License to Library Content
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to access and use Library Content solely for your personal chess training and education within the ChessAtlas platform.
7.3 Library Content Restrictions
You expressly agree that you will NOT:
- Copy, reproduce, extract, download, or scrape Library Content (including PGN data, annotations, comments, and move sequences) for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial chess study
- Sell, resell, license, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise commercially exploit Library Content on any other platform, website, application, or service
- Republish Library Content in whole or in part on chess training websites, YouTube channels, blogs, courses, books, or any other medium
- Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to extract or bulk-download PGN data, annotations, or other Library Content from the Service
- Create derivative works based on Library Content for distribution or commercial use
- Share your account credentials or Library Content with third parties to circumvent access restrictions
The "fork" feature allows you to copy Library Content to your personal repertoire for training within ChessAtlas only. Forking does not grant you ownership or redistribution rights over the underlying content.
7.4 Enforcement and Remedies
Violation of the Library Content restrictions may result in immediate termination of your account without refund. We reserve the right to pursue legal action, including claims for damages and injunctive relief, against any person or entity that infringes our intellectual property rights. We may also employ technical measures to detect and prevent unauthorized extraction of Library Content.
7.5 Trademarks
"ChessAtlas," our logo, and other ChessAtlas trademarks are trademarks or registered trademarks of ANKT SERVICES. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written consent.
8. User-Generated Content
8.1 Ownership of User Content
You retain ownership of original creative content you create on ChessAtlas, specifically:
- Original annotations, notes, and comments you write
- Your creative selection and arrangement of moves into repertoires
- Original analysis and explanations you create
Important clarification: Games imported from third-party platforms (Lichess, Chess.com) may be subject to the terms of those platforms. Individual chess moves and positions are not copyrightable.
8.2 Data Export and Portability
You have the right to export your User Content at any time in a machine-readable format (PGN for chess data). This export right covers content you have created (your repertoire, annotations, and training data) and does not extend to Library Content, which is licensed for in-platform training only (see Section 7): a course that holds Premium library lines can only be exported while you have Premium. You can also request a copy of your personal data at any time (see our Privacy Policy). We will not sell, license, or monetize your User Content without your explicit consent.
9. Acceptable Use Policy
9.1 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Violating any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
- Infringing upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of others
- Using automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our permission
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts or computer systems
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service
- Uploading or transmitting malicious code or viruses
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limitations
10. Third-Party Services
10.1 Integrated Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party services:
- Stripe: Payment processing on the web
- Apple App Store and Google Play (via RevenueCat): In-app purchases
- Google and Apple sign-in: Optional authentication
- Lichess API: Game import from Lichess.org
- Chess.com API: Game import from Chess.com
11. Service Level Agreement
11.1 Availability Target
We target 99.5% monthly uptime for the Service. This target excludes: (i) scheduled maintenance communicated at least 48 hours in advance; (ii) emergency maintenance; (iii) circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
11.2 Support
Technical support is available via email at support@chessatlas.net. We aim to respond within 5 business days for Free plan users and within 2 business days for Premium plan users.
12. Copyright Policy
12.1 Copyright Takedown Notices
If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice to legal@chessatlas.net containing: a signature of the copyright owner, identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material, your contact information, and a statement of good faith belief.
13. Termination
13.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support or using the account deletion feature in your settings (a subscription that can still renew must be cancelled first). Upon termination, your access to the Service will be immediately revoked and your User Content will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.
13.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you seriously breach these Terms (for example by extracting Library Content, attacking the Service, or infringing the rights of others). If a subscription payment fails, only Premium is suspended, after the grace period described in our Terms of Sale, until the payment succeeds; your account is kept. For any other reason, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and refund the unused part of any period you have already paid for.
14. Disclaimers
14.1 Service Provided 'As Is'
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
If you are a consumer, this does not affect the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (Articles L224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) described in our Terms of Sale, or any other right that cannot be excluded.
14.2 No Guarantee of Results
Chess training results may vary. We do not guarantee any specific improvement in your chess rating, performance, or skill level as a result of using the Service.
15. Limitation of Liability
15.1 Liability Cap
IF YOU USE THE SERVICE FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100).
If you are a consumer, this cap does not apply: we are liable to you under the conditions of French law, and nothing in these Terms reduces your right to compensation where we fail to perform our obligations.
15.2 Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud; (iii) any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
16. Indemnification
If you use the Service for professional purposes, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ANKT SERVICES and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third-party right; (iv) any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party.
17. Dispute Resolution
17.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any legal proceedings, we invite you to contact us at support@chessatlas.net and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. This does not restrict your right, as a consumer, to bring proceedings.
17.2 Mediation
In accordance with Articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, if you are a consumer and a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you have the right to submit the dispute to a consumer mediator free of charge, as described in Section 17 of our Terms of Sale.
18. Governing Law
18.1 Applicable Law
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to them or the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France.
18.2 EU Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the court of your place of residence.
19. General Provisions
19.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ChessAtlas regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
19.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
